About Pipe Freeze Plugs
Pipeline freeze plugging service is a non-intrusive, cost-effective, and quick method to perform pipeline maintenance and modifications without draining the system. Using liquid nitrogen, we can isolate your problem area in the pipeline, or vessel, by freeze plugging the product inside the pipeline to form a solid ice plug; which creates a linestop within the pipeline. This allows for very little drain-down or refill and, in many cases, no system downtime. Once the work is complete, the ice plug or plugs are thawed and the line is restored to operation while leaving the pipeline integrity in tact. Standard freeze plugs range in size from 1/2" to 36" OD and can be performed on most fluids, including, petrochemicals with pressures in excess of 3000 psi. If you need a pipeline plug larger than 36" please visit our sister company www.Linestop.com and get a linestop quote for pipe sizes up to 72".
